Could town take over tree trimming?
Highway Department
The Highway Department responsibilities include: maintenance of roadways and ballfields, the upkeep of grounds at all schools and public buildings, the removal of street trees, the trash & recycling programs, the Compost Site, and snowplowing. The Town does not have a DPW. Water or sewer questions should be directed to the Water & Sewer Department.
An option to not hire two new employees:
- Buy a new bucket truck as planned
- Use existing employees to trim
- Send bill for extra time town employeees shouldn’t have spent trimming trees to National Grid
- Repeat #s 2 & 3 above as needed
- Done
