A Murder In Foxborough….

Authorities have since found out who the murdered man was (29-year-old Carlos Gomez of Central Falls, R.I.). Now they’re looking for whoever did it. Initial TV and paper reports had said the victim was running/walking away from where he was shot but didn’t get far. The paper also contained info that some people did think it was just highway vehicle noise – that’s understandable and I’m sure they feel lousy knowing what they know now. The police seem confident they will solve the crime.

A Murder In Foxborough…..

……. sounds as if it could be a title to a novel, but today it is a news Headline. A poignant reminder that even though we are a small town with a close knit sense of community, bad things can and do happen here. Authorities do not yet know the name of the victim, but they know he was running away from his killer. According to WCVB, neighbors heard gunshots at around 12:30 a.m., but no-one called the Police^….what? ….did I read that correctly???…yes, double checking…”Keating said that several neighbors heard the shots at about 12:30 a.m., but no one called police until after 1 a.m. when someone leaving the Cabot Business Park noticed something strange.” Hello?! Hearing gunshots is not something strange enough in town to warrant calling the Police – or did they not recognize them as gunshots and think it was just another loud noise coming from somewhere near the highway and not anything to give another thought to? Please, be aware of the surroundings. Someday it could be the difference between life and death and getting away with a crime or not.

Speaking of crime, October is Domestic Violence awareness month… .
