Wine & Malt License Granted To Downtown Restaurant

The Asian Ginger resturant (at the old Friendly’s building) received conditional approval for a wine and malt license. They must receive an okay Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check and the seating/floor plan must be included with their information and not change. Selectmen DeVellis said he had been there, the food was good, and there was no designated bar where people would come in, sit, and get drinks only. The manager had received some official training for checking ID’s and they were warned that the Foxborough Board of Selectmen takes the issue of liquor violations very seriously. Sullivan suggested the cost of a scanner would be worth it to prevent having to bring back their Boston based lawyer or receiving penalties for a violation. The owner and manager were also cautioned if they wanted to change anything about the business operations or floor plan, they must come back to the Board and get approval prior to instituting those changes. They were wished Good Luck by all but Coppola who recused herself from the hearing (she said she owns property nearby).
